Bio

Hello,
My name is Maxime.
Early life & hobbies

Born in in Aubagne, nestled in the heart of the picturesque Provence region near Marseille, I was raised in the bustling and vibrant city of Paris, where I pursued my studies. Always curious and eager to learn, I have tried my hand at a multitude of things. During my childhood, I was part of a band that played the bass guitar, while also learning how to skate with my friends. I also developed a strong knowledge of food, which I still enjoy to this day. Cooking has become a great passion of mine and I love to experiment with new recipes and ingredients. An active, healthy lifestyle always helps me to unwind after a long, demanding day; whether it's going for a run, playing some sport with friends, or simply taking a few moments to meditate. Below, one of my delicious creations is featured - I'm always open to sharing recipes! Cooking has become an integral part of my life and I'm always looking for new and exciting ideas to explore in the kitchen.
Studies

From a very young age, I have been passionate about subjects such as economics and marketing. With a keen eye for efficiency and productivity, as well as an interest in techniques, I joined an engineering school and completed my studies with a data management program. This was the perfect way for me to bring together all the fields that I was interested in. I have always strived to find the best and most efficient ways to accomplish tasks, and have been eager to learn new skills and techniques. My engineering school was the perfect place to do this, offering me the opportunity to explore the latest methods and technologies. Not only did I gain a valuable set of skills at my engineering school, but I also developed a strong sense of self-discipline and a passion for problem solving. I'm always looking for ways to hone my skills and develop new ones, and I'm excited to see what lies ahead. I'm passionate about discovering new opportunities and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
International

I have had the opportunity to study and work in several different countries, such as England and Denmark. I worked in London during the Olympic Games in 2012, and spent an Erasmus term studying in Kolding. This was an unforgettable experience that taught me a lot about intercultural competence and challenged me in ways I had never imagined. I then went on to do an internship in marketing and web development in Argentina for two months, before finally settling in Bratislava, Slovakia, where I lived and worked for almost three years.
I have an immense love for spontaneous road trips and creating memories with the people I meet along the way. I had the pleasure of doing this in Greece, Spain, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy and across France, which was an incredible experience. More recently, I moved to the Netherlands and have met so many people from all over the world. I'm excited to explore this vibrant country and make more meaningful connections.
I'm grateful to have had the opportunities to experience so many different places and talk to that many people, and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Work

Data Visualisation

I am currently working with Tableau Server and Azure, combining the two to manage users and data governance. In addition to creating visualizations and dashboards, I ensure proper data governance and security is maintained. I am a certified Tableau Desktop specialist and have hosted an online paid course for EDITIONS ENI, sharing my knowledge and experience with Tableau. I have used Tableau Public for several projects and Tableau Gallery remains one of my top sources of inspiration. As a BI Developer, I am responsible for the front end development of BI solutions. This includes creating data visualizations, interactive dashboards, and reports that provide insights into complex data sets. I have experience in developing efficient data models and ETL processes, as well as optimizing performance and scalability of the BI stack.

My experience with Power BI leasted a year and a half but I’m still part of the PBI communities where I follow the different updates (very frequent). I’ve used the tool to optimize the data visualization @Eurosport. From an Excel-based reporting, we pushed the tool to analyze and understand more our clients, purchase habits, revenue…etc. The aim was to help the top management and the sales team to have better insights and be able to deep dive between YTD and archive.

Finally, I used MicroStrategy @CBRE to analyze occupancy and space data across our portfolio. From scheduled structure reports to dynamic visualization, we covered the different needs of our audience.

ETL

Power Query (inside Power BI) has been extremely useful to load the different queries we had @EUROSPORT. The tool gives a variety of possibilities that I appreciated. The auto DAX scripting was powerful, but I still had to go back and modify it several times. I’ve also learned the basics of M for some requests in this time.

I started to use Alteryx in 2020 and it has been a game-changer for me. From series of manual transformations, I was now able to streamline everything. I had the chance to follow a sketchnoting course that turned out to be very useful for the use of Alteryx. I’m very proud to have access to the tool and will, I hope, still have it in the future.

I used Dataiku when I was at engineering school for a couple of months. Impressed by the data science part, I hope to use it in the future.

Other

I’ve done a PoC with Power App that aimed to welcome new joiners and assign them a series of tasks in their TO DO plus gives them the basic links. I really enjoy the application and the connectivity within the Microsoft eco-system. I anticipate using it with Power Automate in the close future.
